Voices of the Passion 2017
Pedestrians paused in Lewes Precinct on Easter Sunday, 15th April, to listen to a range of Voices of the Passion.
Members of the Lewes Passion Play group performed as characters from the different days of Holy Week, each asking themselves ‘Who is this man, Jesus?’ The Blind man recognised Jesus the healer, The pharisee, spoke of Jesus the rebel, The Disciple Peter saw Jesus as the betrayed friend, whilst the high priest Caiaphas determined Jesus as blasphemer. Mary Mother of Jesus announced him as her Gift from God and The Centurion as The Son of God.
Three children linked the monologue pieces to give some background information, with some musical accompaniment to help set the moods.
